Hello and Welcome!

My name is Amber and I’m delighted to meet you here. As a woman in her mid-late 40’s, I intimately know life in perimenopause. On a good day, I can really welcome the opportunity to learn how to take even better care of myself and embrace loving me exactly as I am in this moment. On a not so good day, I have a few colorful words for midlife and perimenopause and feel tired and overwhelmed by how much work it seems to take just to feel okay. Enough already with the learning and growth! So, yeah, it’s a journey.

Therapist & Counselor

I have over a decade of experience supporting people on their emotional health and wellness journeys and over the last seven years, my work has been focused on supporting women. My approach is holistic-I support the Whole Person (body, mind and heart). I bring my training as an Art Therapist/Counselor, EMDR trained therapist, Certified Trauma Specialist, Certified Bereavement Counselor and general believer in the goodness of people into my therapy practice. Being a witness and support for people to transform their lives has been so rewarding and I am continually inspired by the human capacity for change and resilience, even in the hardest of life experiences.

Certified Menopause Coach

Once I started to get a handle on my own perimenopause journey a few years ago, I decided I needed to get more training and bring perimenopause and menopause out of the dark and share what I’ve learned with other women. I am thrilled that menopause isn’t as taboo as it once was and I am so aware that there are still many women suffering alone, wondering if they are bananas, if it’s “just me”, or if their bodies are suddenly revolting and breaking down. Yes, our bodies are changing, but with the right knowledge and practical tools, we can get through this time and even find beauty and strength in it.

Yoga Teacher

Back in 2017, I decided I wanted to become a Certified Yoga Teacher. Personally, I discovered yoga about 10 years ago and as my counseling skills matured, I started to deeply understand the power of slow and deliberate movement. For me, yoga was the first time I understood what feeling into my body actually meant. And even more, I experienced a visceral sense of safety and ease-it was a game changer. Even if you are not a yoga person, finding ways to move your body with thoughtfulness and gentleness is a powerful practice and can be a beautiful way to start building the bridge between your mind, your heart and your physical body.

My Mission & Values

My mission with Journey Well Women is to demystify, validate and normalize a life transition that more than half of the planet is/will go through! When it comes to health and wellness, I embrace Self-Love, Longevity, Well-Being and Integrity; these values infuse both my personal and professional life. I don’t ask my clients to do anything that I haven’t done or don’t currently do myself. I’m driven by a vision to inspire women that they can (and should) put themselves first. Loving ourselves and living a life of joy is a radical act! I am excited about building a community of self-loving, bad ass women!
